PostRight:

All Cameras:

ColorRight PostRight Quick Start Guide:
  • Take a photograph of the PostRight in each setting you are in taking photographs
  • Use White Balance Tool in your favorite editor.
  • Click any of the 12 numbered areas on the POSTRIGHT.
  • Copy-Paste/Sync the chosen White Balance Settings to all other photos in the same light.
 
ColorRight and ColorRight Pro:

All cameras:
  • When taking the CR reference photograph, you will need to make certain all light being used in the photographs reaches the CR for the reference photograph (i.e. if you are using flash for the photographs, use the flash for the CR reference photograph).
  • When using with external strobes, make certain the strobes fire when taking the white balance reference photograph. Make certain the light from the strobes reaches the dome. If needed, point the dome directly at the strobes when taking the white balance reference photograph.
Canon:
  • Step 1 - Make sure camera is in P, AV, or TV mode. If in manual, be sure to set proper exposure.
  • Step 2 - Turn off lens auto focus (or if your camera is set to AI-Servo focus this step is not required)
  • Step 3 - Hold ColorRight Pro with red dot facing up and flush against the front of the lens, point towards subject/light source, press shutter
  • Step 4 - Press WB button on top of camera and select the two triangles with the dot in the center (custom WB symbol)
  • Step 5 - Press menu button
  • Step 6 - Enter "Custom WB" Menu
  • Step 7 - Select photo just taken
  • Step 8 - Remember to turn lens auto-focus back on if not using AI-Servo mode
  • Step 9 - Ready to take photographs
  • Step 10 - Repeat and set custom WB each time the lighting and/or setting changes
Nikon:
  • Locate the "WB" button (top, upper left).
  • Press and hold the "WB" button and turn the top, right, back dial until the camera white balance is in "PRE"...after it is in "PRE" mode release the "WB" button.
  • Again, press and hold the "WB" button until "PRE" is flashing on the LCD display.
  • Place the ColorRight Pro or ColorRight flush against the lens (ColorRight Pro only - with the red dot(s) facing upwards and depress the shutter). "Good" will appear on the LCD screen and your custom white balance will be set. You are ready to take pictures.
  • Follow these steps and set "custom" white balance each time the lighting and/or setting changes.
Olympus:

Olympus E-3:

  • -Number "1" - do not point the camera at a white piece of paper, place the ColorRight Pro flush against the lens with the red dot(s) facing upwards and point towards your subject(s). The only time you will point towards the light is when you are in the studio shooting with strobes...in the studio with strobes, point towards the strobes.
  • Follow the remaining steps in the camera manual to set the white balance.
  • Set one-touch white balance each time the "light" changes
Olympus E-500:
  • Use one-touch white balance
