All digital cameras (including compact cameras, video cameras and mobile phone cameras) have trouble assigning the correct colors to a picture in your camera. Different camera manufacturers employ different methods to try and fix this problem. Most manufacturers include something called auto white balance. Auto white balance is a "best guess" that the camera uses in determining what is actually supposed to white in the scene. Sometimes it works well, sometimes the guess is very wrong. You see these wrong guesses in your photos as an orangish or bluish color cast across the entire image. ColorRight filters provide the camera a "white reference" that gets rid of all the guesswork. With ColorRight filters your camera will always know what colors to apply to your images. ColorRight removes the guesswork and frees you from having to try to fix the ugly colors in post-production software like, Photoshop.
ColorRight works with all digital slrs, all pro video equipment, most camcorders, most compact cameras and all iOS devices with cameras running v4.0+ (iphone, ipod touch 4g)
ColorRight fixes your color in camera, not in post-production saving lots of time and money. ColorRight is easier to use. ColorRight is more robust and durable. ColorRight is easier to carry and will not break apart or crumble like a grey card
No, ColorRight is a universal solution. It works with almost all lenses. It will cover any lens that uses an 82mm filter size or smaller.
This number is usually printed on the very front of the lens. It is not the focal length of the lens (eg. our filters will work with all kit lenses, including a lens that has a focal length of 28-135mm). The focal length has nothing to do with the lens filter size of your lens. Basically, the only lenses that it will not work with out of the box are one or two "fisheye" lenses, or very long telephoto lenses costing $4,000 or more. It works with all normal telephoto lenses by almost all manufacturers.
They are both capable of producing almost perfect results, everytime. However, the ColorRight Pro is easier to use in practice.
These two products are exactly the same except that the portrait edition adds a small amount of warmth to the neutral image. This is often desirable when taking portrait images. People sometimes prefer a slightly warmer skin tone than what is actually natural. Culturally, a slight "tan" look to the skin is often perceived as indicating good health, or as being more fashionable.
